Player profiles that convince sponsors

Before a company writes to you, it looks around: who plays for you, how do they come across, and how can you reach them? A clean profile for each person answers that. We show what belongs in it and which mistakes to avoid.

To be upfront: What sponsors find important is our assessment from working with esports organizations, not a study. We build Clan CMS and describe in section 4 how profiles look there.

1. Why profiles matter

A sponsorship is a relationship with people, not just with a logo. Whoever checks whether an organization fits usually looks at the website: are there real faces, understandable roles and ways to reach the people? A site with incomplete or outdated profiles looks uncertain, even if the team is good.

2. What belongs in a profile

  • A good photo, consistent for everyone (same size, similar background)
  • Nickname and role: game, position or task in the team
  • A short bio in two or three sentences: since when on the team, biggest successes, what makes the person special
  • Social links that belong to the person and are maintained
  • The team’s results at a glance, so people see performance
  • Staff with a task: coach, manager, support, moderation. Sponsors want to know whom to contact
  • Up to date: update roster changes immediately

3. Typical mistakes

  • Former players stay listed. Whoever is no longer on the team should be hidden.
  • Photos in all formats: a mix of selfies, logos and game shots looks unprofessional.
  • No roles: “Player” is not enough, position and task make the team understandable.
  • Dead links: social links to deleted accounts do more harm than good.
  • Too much private information: real names, place of residence or age without agreement are off limits.
  • Staff is missing. Without a contact person, partners do not know where to turn.

4. How it works in Clan CMS

In Clan CMS every player and every staff member gets a page of their own automatically (/spieler/nickname) with photo, role, bio, social links and the team’s latest results. On the team page the nickname links to it.

  • Admin → Players & staff: maintain photo, team, role and bio. The list shows hints such as “No photo” or “No role”, so nothing is missing.
  • Bulk actions: assign a team, mark staff or hide people, for several people at once.
  • Hiding: former members stay in the admin but are not visible anywhere on the website.
  • Staff page: coach, manager, support or moderation get a page of their own with their task, so partners find the right contact.
  • Partners page: you show your sponsors with their logo on a partners page of their own.

If you want to approach sponsors deliberately, add the Sponsors add-on module (69 € once): it turns your numbers into the media kit “Our reach” as a PDF. How to find and approach sponsors is covered in the guide Find sponsors for your esports team.

The free version includes profiles for up to 12 people and 2 teams.

5. Consent and privacy

  • Only with consent: you publish a person’s photo, bio and links only if they agreed. For minors the consent of a legal guardian is usually needed as well.
  • Nickname instead of real name, if the person prefers.
  • Deletion on request: if someone leaves the organization or withdraws consent, take the profile down, hiding it first and deleting it later if needed.
  • Legal matters: we do not give legal advice here. In case of doubt, get advice for your legal form.

6. Frequently asked questions

How many profiles do I need?

A complete profile for everyone on the team, plus staff with their task. A few well-kept profiles are better than many half-empty ones.

What do I do with former players?

Hide or delete them. In Clan CMS hidden people stay in the admin but are not visible anywhere on the website.

May I simply publish photos and social links?

Only with the person’s consent, and for minors usually that of the legal guardian as well. We do not give legal advice.

Are profiles alone enough for a sponsorship?

No, they are one building block. Numbers on reach and growth and a clear offer belong with them. We have a guide of its own on that.

Are profiles available in the free version too?

Yes, up to 12 player profiles and 2 teams.

Profiles you can show with pride?

In Clan CMS every person automatically gets a profile page of their own, with photo, role, bio, links and the team’s results.
